Is Sculptra painful?
The procedure itself is not painful as Dr. Ort uses a numbing agent before administering the injection. We understand that some patients get anxious at the thought of a needle, and we will take care of your needs and make you feel comfortable. Following the treatment, it is common to experience some side effects such as redness, irritation, and itchiness of the skin at the treatment site. Dr. Ort can recommend a range of topical ointments to alleviate any pain or irritation.
How many appointments will I need?
The initial Sculptra treatment will be administered in one appointment. Following this, Dr. Ort will recommend a series of follow-up appointments for maintenance, depending on your individual goals and type of skin. The number of treatments will vary from patient to patient but generally, three to six treatments are required. Dr. Ort will create a plan that is designed to show maximum benefits to your skin.
How long until I see results?
You can expect to see results within a few weeks, but this can vary depending on your case. When you come in for a consultation, Dr. Ort will give you more details on the type of results you can expect based on your assessment, and the areas being treated.
Once completed, Sculptra’s benefits can last for two years, but as always, each patient is different and should expect their results to vary depending on their personal needs and treatment.
Can I combine Sculptra with other procedures?
Yes, you can! Some of the most common treatments combined include Chemical Peels, RF Skin Tightening, or BOTOX. If you are thinking of combining a procedure with another treatment, talk to Dr. Ort during your consultation. She will assess each case individually and make recommendations that will benefit each patient. Dr. Ort will never advise a treatment or procedure that may not be right for you. It’s important to share any medical history or underlying medical conditions with Dr. Ort, as this may affect your ability to combine treatments.
What are the risks associated with Sculptra?
Most of our non-invasive and non-surgical treatments have minimal risks and side effects. It is one of the reasons they are so popular, and provide astounding results in so many patients. During your consultation, Dr. Ort will outline the potential risks of Sculptra, which include:
